Local work:

As the owner of an advertising agency, I understand the day-to-day challenges of small business. I am privileged to serve a wide variety of local clients, enabling me to relate to the intricate issues that face the businesses in the 33rd district.

By electing me as your State Representative, you can feel confident that I’ll represent your interests thanks to my experience in industries like these:

RUI logoRESTAURANT: I’ve been fortunate for the last six years to serve Restaurants Unlimited as their exclusive media strategist, planner, and buyer for all of their brand restaurants from Honolulu to Pittsburgh. Their brands include Palisade, Palomino, Cutters, and Stanley & Seafort’s to name a few. Recently we have been developing strategies to market their newest brand locations (Stanfords & Newport Bay) with RUI’s acquisition of Pacific Coast Restaurants.

RETAIL: In the appliance industry, I’ve served as executive advertising counsel for The Maytag Store of Seattle. These four stores are owned by Seattle-based Mosaic Company, a great group of people who are honestly looking to elevate their retail-based brand while simultaneously increasing store traffic. We’ve worked closely with Senior Marketing Manager Laurel James to develop and distinguish their brand in way that is more personal than the competing nationally-owned chains.

Alaska Airlines logoAIRLINE: My first taste of the airline industry came back in college when I worked at Sea-Tac Airport for Delta Airlines in cabin service. I have since worked on numerous campaigns for Alaska Airlines, and most recently was hired to promote a new regional flight service for Big Sky Airlines.

HEALTH CARE: I’ve helped market some of our top regional health care facilities since 1995. In partnership with Brems Eastman & Partners, I developed strategic campaigns for Swedish Medical Center and MultiCare Health System. In partnership with KOMO-TV, Fisher Radio Seattle, and The Seattle Mariners, we co-developed a “get tested” prostate cancer awareness campaign for Northwest Hospital & Medical Center. I’ve learned how to connect the needs of the community with the great offerings our Northwest health care facilities can provide.

Kress logoGROCERY: Kress IGA Supermarket is one of my newest clients. It’s a brand new store, currently under construction (and slated to open June 15th) in the old Kress Department Store Building at Third & Pike in downtown Seattle.

A downtown grocery store may not sound like that big of a deal — until you consider there is no supermarket in the entire downtown core area; which leaves the thousands of residents who have moved into all of the new area condominiums to get into their cars and drive to the outskirts of downtown to do their grocery shopping if they want an honest to goodness supermarket.

There’s already quite a buzz among the blogs and local press about the much anticipated opening. My creative director and I have worked on supermarket advertising before, including stores like QFC, Metropolitan Market and Whole Foods.

TOURISM: Since 2005, Gibson Media has served as the advertising agency of record for Tourism Walla Walla. We’ve been working with tourism officals to help get word out about this burgeoning little town quickly becoming known nationwide for its great wine, beautiful scenery and laid back lifestyle. After a series of focus groups, we quickly landed on the positioning line “Surprise, surprise” which over the years has gained tremendous traction. According to Michael Davidson, President of Tourism Walla Walla, the interest that has been generated for the region has been nothing short of amazing.
